The digital sector contributes nearly £151 billion to the economy, and is flourishing increasing year by year. Therefore, providing increasingly varied and interesting career opportunities IT for your future.

Courses are delivered by tutors with a wealth of specialist skills, based on years of industry experience and academic status.

This Level 2 IT course allows you to build on skills that you have learnt previously and is a great progression course to continue your journey. Throughout the course you will delve into the online world, examining hardware and software, the importance of computer and cyber security and design your own digital portfolio to present to future employers.

(This course runs over 3 or 4 days over the whole year - 11 hours a week. In the classroom there will be a mixture of adults and 16-18s)

Within your Level 2 IT course you will cover units on:
- The Online World
- Technology Systems
- Installing and Maintaining Computer Hardware
- Creating Digital graphics
- Computer Security in Practice
- Database Development
- Creating a digital portfolio

You will also build on employability skills such as punctuality, attendance, communication and teamwork.

GCSE Maths and English at Level 1 / Grade 9-3 or Grade A-D
Level 1 EDSQ or other suitable Level 1 qualification

(If no prior quals an interview will be required alongside an initial assessment)

Unit 1 and Unit 2 (The Online World and Technology Systems) are assessed through an online exam that is externally marked. We will enter you for this exam in January/ February/ March when you are ready.

All other units are assessed throughout the year through set assignments that are marked by your tutor.

Work will be graded at a Pass, Merit of Distinction level.

Tuition Fee: £1080.00

You can opt to pay these fees in monthly instalments. You can set this up during the enrolment.

Assessment

All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

Financial

Adult Learners

Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):

Studying at College

The proportion of these hours will depend on the individual qualification(s) being undertaken.
