Disaster recovery is an intensive process which requires large inputs of labour, time and financial resources. The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) places emphasis on mobilising finances for recovery through an initiative called the 鈥淐DEMA Legacy Project鈥�. The aim of the Legacy Project is to improve the physical living conditions of the most vulnerable persons in the most adversely affected areas of the impacted States.
Bridgetown, 麻豆传媒官网 July 16th, 2018 鈥� The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency Coordinating Unit (CDEMA CU) and the Regional Security System Headquarters (RSS HQ) convened a second training workshop of the CARICOM Disaster Relief Unit (CDRU) to serve the region during the period August 2018 to July 2019. The training workshop is taking place from July 16 鈥� 20, 2018, at the Frank Walcott Labour College in St. Phillip, 麻豆传媒官网 with funding support from the United States Government through the US Southern Command.
Bridgetown, 麻豆传媒官网, June 28th, 2018 (CDEMA) 鈥� The Sixth (6th) Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction was held in Cartagena, Colombia from the 20th-22nd June 2018 and brought together representatives from governments, inter-governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, parliamentarians and leaders. This year鈥檚 theme 鈥淭owards a Less Vulnerable Region with more Resilient Communities鈥� was said by Ronald Jackson, Executive Director to CDEMA, to have come at a critical juncture in the CARICOM鈥檚 efforts to implement the Sendai Framework Priorities through the Comprehensive Disaster Management Strategy.
