Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, February 4, 2011,聽 (NEMO) - According to information received from the Seismic Research Centre (SRC), University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and the Soufriere Monitoring Unit, Ministry of Agriculture, at 8:16 am today, February 4, 2011, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred north of the Paria Peninsula between Trinidad and Venezuela.
The earthquake was felt in Trinidad, St. Vincent, St. Lucia and Grenada. The event was located at 11.36掳N and 61.87掳W with a depth of 144km. No damage or injuries were reported. These results are preliminary and may vary slightly when additional data is processed.
